Stockholm through our eyes: Södermalm

Join us to Södermalm! We guide you to the best views, alleys and parks beyond the tourist routes.

1. Fjällgatan and the view of the city

Fjällgatan
One of Stockholm's most classic views — but still worth stopping at. From here you can see Gamla Stan, Saltsjön and the city's silhouette spread out between church towers and water. Especially beautiful in the evening light.

2. Vitabergsparken and the wooden cabins

Vitabergsparken
In the middle of Södermalm's heights, small red wooden houses from another time remain. Here, the history of the working-class district meets parks, cliffs and quieter walking paths. An area that still feels more local than touristy.

3. Monteliusvägen at dusk

Monteliusvägen
The short walk along the mountain offers some of the city's most beautiful views of Riddarholmen and Kungsholmen. Feel free to come here when the sun begins to set and the city lights slowly turn on.

4. Katarinaberget and the small alleys

Katarinaberget
Behind Mosebacke and Katarina Church hide cobblestone streets, old wooden houses and unexpectedly quiet neighborhoods. Here you can still find traces of the older Södermalm — far from shopping streets and nightlife.

5. Skinnarviksberget

Skinnarviksberget
Stockholm's highest natural viewpoint attracts both Stockholmers and visitors who want to experience the evening sun over Riddarfjärden. Bring something warm to drink and sit down on the rocks for a while.

6. SoFo beyond the main streets

SoFo
Södermalm is constantly changing, but between small side streets and quieter neighborhoods there is still a mixture of second-hand shops, small cafes, courtyards and local businesses. Feel free to wander without stress and let the area surprise you.

7. Tantolunden and Årstaviken

Tantolunden
Allotment gardens, bathing areas, walking paths and evening light over the water — Tantolunden shows a greener side of Södermalm. Here the city feels almost like a park in the middle of cliffs and water.
