Stockholm through our eyes: Djurgården

1. Rosendal's garden

Rosendals Trädgård
One of our favorite stops on Djurgården. Here you will find cultivations, greenhouses, cafes and quiet walking paths under old oak trees. Feel free to come here on a weekday morning when the city still feels far away.

2. Bellmansro and the old oak trees

Bellmansro
In southern Djurgården there is a quieter landscape with large oak trees, gravel roads and traces of older times' summer pleasures. Here stands Carl Michael Bellman's bust surrounded by greenery and birdsong.

3. Galärvarvskyrkogården

Galärvarvskyrkogården
One of Stockholm's most atmospheric places. Here sailors, artists and writers rest with a view of the water and the city. A quiet place for reflection in the midst of Djurgården's many visitors.

4. Djurgårdsstaden

Djurgårdsstaden
Small red wooden houses, cobblestone streets and a feeling of small town in the middle of the capital. The area was built for people who worked at the shipyards and the navy and is today one of Stockholm's most charming historical environments.

5. Isbladskärret

Isbladskärret
For those who want to experience nature on Djurgården, we recommend Isbladskärret. Here herons, swans and other birds mingle in a quiet wetland area just a short walk from the city's museums and folk life.

6. The beach promenade at Blockhusudden

Blockhusudden
Furthest out on Djurgården, the sky, water and boat life open up. The walk here offers great views of the inlet towards Stockholm and feels almost more archipelago than inner city.

7. The evening light at Djurgårdsbron

Djurgårdsbron
When the museums have closed and the pace slows down, Djurgården gets a different calm. Take an evening walk over the bridge and follow the water towards Strandvägen while the sun sets over the city. Stockholm often shows itself from its most beautiful side right here.
