Gamla Stan Walking Tour: Hidden Stories of Stockholm’s Old Town
Join us through Gamla Stan – Stockholm's historical heart – where trade, crafts and everyday life shaped the city during the Middle Ages.
Join us through Gamla Stan – Stockholm's historical heart – where trade, crafts and everyday life shaped the city during the Middle Ages.
We start from Slottsbacken, just below Stockholm Palace, and move through alleys and squares towards Slussen. Along the way, we encounter both well-known places and lesser-known environments, depending on the day's pace and the city's pulse.
The walk focuses on how the city functioned and was experienced by those who lived here – from the center of power to the narrower alleys where everyday life took shape. By highlighting people, details and historical layers, a more vivid and coherent picture is given than just a review of sights.
The tour is suitable for both individual visitors and groups who want to get an introduction to Stockholm – guided by authorized guides with local knowledge.
